About Us

The Prairie Soap Company was founded in 2005. It was created out of a passion for making quality soap using amazing ingredients. We specialize in small batch, hand crafted soaps, lotions and lip balms. Our famous Buffalo Tallow Soap, Beer Soap, Buffalo Tallow Lotion and Lip Balm were a product of many hours of research and lots of trial and error.

We are proud to be a South Dakota based company and enjoy the inspirational view of the beautiful Black Hills from the windows at our manufacturing facility. In addition, we are so fortunate to be in the heart of the Wild West at our retail location: Miss Kitty's Mercantile on Main St, Deadwood, SD. 

After some serious health issues, The Prairie Soap Company changed hands to the founders daughter in 2020. We continue to use the same recipes and ingredients that have made The Prairie Soap Company so well known.
